You see the thing your entire life. A lot of people take it for granted, never look at Luna. The truth of it is, we owe our reasonably stable existence to it. Our moon is pretty unique, in that it’s about 1/4 the size of our own planet, which pretty much makes it freakin’ huge compared to other moons in our solar system. While a few of those might be bigger than Luna, compared to the planets they orbit, they’re tiny.

The Chaos Computer Club in Germany got its hands on a copy of a supposedly lawful interception trojan being used by German police forces, and say that it goes far beyond the court mandate which originally allowed its creation. It was found out in the net and given to them anonymously, and they say that it is not only capable of the wiretapping the court mandated, but also activating your webcam, intercepting encrypted data on the clients end (E.G.: Skype conversations) and giving detailed usage logs such as keystrokes and browsing activities. When I was a kid, I thought Star Trek was cool. My mom used to watch The Next Generation and when I first saw a ship de-cloak itself on the screen I thought to myself, “Man! That would be the ultimate tool, wouldn’t it?”.
Turns out some folks at BAE systems think the same thing. They’ve recently developed something they’re calling Adaptiv armor plating for tanks, helicopters and boats. Individual hexagonal cells line the outside of the tank, each able to detach individually. They work together to hide or change the vehicles infared signature, and that’s where things get really interesting. Read on for more info!
